Students, faculty and staff at SJC Long Island were treated Thursday — the second day of fall classes — to a Disney-themed “Welcome Back Barbecue” on the Danzi Knoll.
The annual Campus Activites Board event was a huge success as the crowd under sunny skies devoured burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, salads and Mister Softee, while also enjoying a photo booth, zip lining and a mechanical bull.
“It is refreshing to see my classmates, and I am glad to be taking another step forward in my academic career,” said David Turner, who has started his second year at SJC Long Island.
Alumna Gabrielle Battiloro, now an admissions counselor, still enjoys coming to the event.
“Being back at SJC and getting to enjoy a Welcome Back Barbecue as a staff member has been wonderful,” the 2014 graduate said. “It’s great that the College still hosts this event for students to come together and celebrate the start of a new semester.”
